About
When we were called to start a church we all received the same words that we were meant to look different and do “church” differently purely because we want what only the Father has for His/this body. Threw out all we knew about the “western church” and let the Holy Spirit build what He wanted. It’s been a hard but refreshing road to only go in directions the Holy Spirit is leading us in. We know we have to make moves and step out but we rely on Him to guide and direct us. The name Encounter came to us because Jesus is the only reason why we’re here. His heart is all we’re seeking. We want this to be a place of encountering the King of Kings. We’re not running a business, we’re not controlling our finances like one and we’re going all in for Him. Seeking his purity.

Lead Pastor
Tom is the Pastor of Encounter Church of Nappanee. He strives to seek the Lord and His direction for this church, preaching and teaching the Truth of God’s Word. Tom is passionate about encountering real relationships with the Lord and being obedient unto Him to provide a place for the Holy Spirit to move and minister to the church body.
Over the past 12 years, Tom has served in various roles within the church body. He has mentored many in His time within the church and within the workplace. One of his desires is to help others realize their unique giftings and calling that the Lord has for them, and encourage them in ways to walk it out in their everyday lives.
For the past 10 years, Tom has been married to his wife, Hannah Glassburn. Together they are raising four amazing, wild, adventurous boys. They currently make their home in Goshen with a dog, 2 cats, and a handful of chickens.
Other passions Tom enjoys are gardening and farming, also tinkering in the pole barn on various projects and spending time with his family.
